What Surprised You The Most About Moving to Iowa?
Our actors move from around the country to the Old Creamery Theatre, located in Amana Iowa, to rehearse and produce our shows! Sometimes they are here for only 6 weeks, sometimes they are here all year! Check out this blog post about what about Iowa surprised our actors the most!
It's so green!!! I arrived from NYC and I remember thinking "Whoa!! Trees!!" Iowa is a really beautiful part of the country. And the people I've met are so nice and welcoming!" —Lindsey Cline, Brooklyn, New York
"Iowa's diverse beauty. And the -16 degree temperature greeting me when I arrived (Luckily it's not always like that!)" —Jim Vogt, Mays Landing, New Jersey
"How beautiful Iowa is. The countryside is absolutely stunning in all seasons!" —Keegan Christopher, Jefferson City, Missouri
"I prepared myself for small town life, but I didn't realize how small Amana was! I loved it, though! Definitely different from Atlanta!" —Chela North, Atlanta, Georgia
"That I wouldn't want to leave it! Three years later, I'm still here!" —Katie Colletta, Rockton, Illinois
"How absolutely breathtaking the fields are. When the sun hits the hills just right, it's one of the most beautiful, peaceful, and inspiring views. I'm overwhelmed by the plethora or greens. I grew up in Wisconsin, and we have our fair share of fields, but Iowa has something special." —Adelina Feldman Schultz, Chicago, Illinois
"Corn, corn, corn… and soybeans." —Travis Burbee, Springfield, Missouri
