Curt Wollan
Curt Wollan loves the Creamettes and the Amanas! A 1976 graduate of the U of Iowa with an M.F.A. in directing, Curt has been in residence as the Artistic Director of the Plymouth Playhouse in the Twin Cities since 1979. His company, Troupe America Inc., has been producing at the Playhouse since 1987 with such memorable hits as “How To Talk Minnesotan, the Musical”, “A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline”, “ I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”, “Ring of Fire”, and all five productions involving the Church Basement Ladies.
With Troupe America Inc, he has produced and directed over two hundred national tours including “The Odd Couple” with M.A.S.H. stars, Jamie Farr and William Christopher, “Same Time, Next Year” starring Mackenzie Phillips and Adrian Zmed, “Moon Over Buffalo” starring Gavin MacLeod and “The Sunshine Boys” starring Dick Van Patten and Frank Gorshin. As a free lance director his work has been seen at Houston’s Theatre Under The Stars, The New Theatre in Kansas City, Boulder’s Dinner Theatre, Beef & Boards in Indianapolis, The Broadway Palm in Florida, and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Curt had the honor of directing Dolly Parton in her family memoir musical, “My People”, and “A Christmas Carol” where Dolly appears in a hologram as the Ghost of Christmas Past.
