Genji Onishi

Genji Onishi is a recent graduate from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Music in performance. He has played in several ensembles in both the classical and jazz settings including the University of Iowa's Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Repertory Ensemble, and small combo. He has studied with Volkan Orhon as well as John Rapson for jazz composition and arranging. His playing can be heard on the albums Crescendo, a collaboration between the jazz and theater departments, and with the Latin Jazz Ensemble under the direction of James Dreier, which features one of his arrangements, and is to be released in the fall.
