Jeanette Welch
Jeanette Welch, string bass, is a native of Berkeley, California; she received her BA in music from the University of California at San Diego, and an MA in bass performance at the University of Iowa. She has pursued a wide range of performance opportunities, mostly classical but also other styles, including jazz and rock. In Iowa, she performs with Orchestra Iowa (aka the Cedar Rapids Symphony), and the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony. She is currently on the faculty of the Preucil School of Music in Iowa City, Kirkwood Community College, along with St. Ambrose University in Davenport. She also performs with Bossa Maior, a bossa nova/samba band, House of Escher, a funky blues band, and the Doug Langbehn Trio (jazz). “Snoopy” is her second show at the Old Creamery Theatre, after “Lumberjacks in Love” from last season. She lives in Iowa City with her husband Craig, a physics professor at the University of Iowa, who also plays guitar.
