Mary O'Sullivan
Mary went to New York City as a college student at Coe, and ended up in the off-broadway play Winners and joined the Actor’s Equity Association at the age of 20. Mary spent some years in New York, working in Regional theatre and on Broadway in The Real Thing. After meeting her husband while in a play together in Maine, they moved to Los Angeles when Mary was cast in the film Baby Boom. Mary lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years, making a living as an actor in television, on commercials, regional theatre, directing and designing lights for plays.
Here in Iowa, she has been in shows for Riverside Theatre and City Circle, she designed lights for many shows at Giving Tree Theatre. Mary is a founding member and writer /performer for the Writer’s Room for SPT Theatre. Mary worked for the Old Creamery in the summer of 1980, it was her first theatre internship. She is very pleased to be returning after all these years.
