Travis Smith
Travis is from Columbus, OH and has been an accomplished pianist for several years currently focusing his passions on music technology, composition, arrangements, orchestrations, and music directing. He has served as the resident music director for several theatres including the historic Round Barn theatre in Nappanee, IN, Allenberry Playhouse in Carlisle, PA, and Bearcreek Resort in Bryant, IN. At Bearcreek he was also the activities director and had the privilege to emcee and open for many headliners including Joanne Castle, Boots Randolph, and the Glenn Miller orchestra.
He has collaborated with the Old Creamery as composer/arranger on several children's musicals including Calamity Jane and the Showdown at Dry Gulch, The Legend of Blackbeard’s Gold, and Merlin’s Apprentice and the Deadly Dragon. He was also the music director and pianist for the Old Creamery's productions of Plaid Tidings and Honky Tonk Angels: Christmas Spectacular and has music directed five productions at the nearby Circa '21 dinner theatre in Rock Island, IL.
Travis is also a performer having been seen in various venues throughout the United States and on the national tour of A Christmas Carol with the Nebraska Theatre Caravan. Some of his favorite roles include "Sister Amnesia" in Nunsense A-Men!, "Mervin Oglethorpe" in Smoke On The Mountain, and "Jesus" in Godspell.
