Margaret Clair

Margaret, who left California and became an Iowan in 2000, is delighted to be working for the first time with The Old Creamery. She and her husband Randy West and their two children enjoy life in Iowa beyond their wildest expectations. Margaret worked primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area in opera, operetta, musical theatre, and performance work, and has toured Eastern and Western Europe with George Coates Performance Works. She is currently finishing her MA in voice performance at the University of Iowa, is an Adjunct Voice Professor at Iowa Wesleyan College, in Mt. Pleasant and directs GOVAP, (Greater Ottumwa Vocal Arts Project).Two of Margaret’s favorite roles are Ida, the Mother Duck, for the Iowa premiere of HONK!, and Rebecca Nurse in the recent opera production of The Crucible at Hancher Auditorium. She is a member of the Jefferson County Civic Center’s touring musical theatre group, the Encore players, most recently playing the role of Abby in The Musical of Musicals, (The Musical!).
