John is coming to us straight from performing in the highly acclaimed musical revue Lights Up on Broadway at the Bristol Riverside Theatre. Some of you may recognize John from his performance as Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray at The Sondheim Center this past July. Prior to that, John starred in the encore presentation of the new comedy ALL ABOARD…And Then Some in Philadelphia, PA. He also wrote and directed it. John is an award winning singer/actor and has performed over 100 different roles on both the professional opera and theatre stages such as Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden (Salt Award: Best Actor in a Musical), Sid in The Pajama Game (N.Y.), Curly in Oklahoma (Apple Award: Best Actor in a Musical), Ravenal in Showboat (FL.), Lt. Joe Cable in South Pacific (Apple Award: Best Supporting Actor in a Musical) with Jamie Farr from M*A*S*H, Johnny Brown in The Unsinkable Molly Brown (N.Y.), George in Out of Order (Handy Award: Best Actor in a Comedy), and the title roles in Jekyll & Hyde (Salt Award: Best Actor in a Musical) and three different versions of The Phantom of the Opera. John is also the Artistic Director for The Laugh Out Loud Theatre Company in Philadelphia and has received awards for Best Director and Best Stage Direction. Called “The Mario Lanza of today!” by both New York and Miami press, John has performed, literally, around the world with his one man show entitled Music of the Night, singing music from both opera and Broadway as well as standards made famous by such artists as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Mario Lanza. As a published playwright, John has written several comedies, including Holy Cannoli, Watchin’ Waldo, Take My Husband…Please, Sorry Wrong Window, Is He Dead Again, and Valentine Schmalentine –scheduled to debut this February in Philadelphia.
