Tom Schwans returns to The Old Creamery to direct Moonlight and Magnolias this season. Tom was a company member and Associate Artistic Director for The Creamery from 1999 to 2004. During his tenure here, Tom directed Amadeus, 1940’s Radio Hour, Nuncrackers, & Last Train to Nibroc. Creamery audiences may remember his performances in The Rainmaker (Starbuck), Elephant Man (Merrick), Stones In His Pockets (Jake), and countless farces. He is currently a professional actor, director, and teacher in New York City and recently performed with HBO Television. Tom is also the Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Guerrilla Shakespeare Project in New York City, where he just produced the world premiere of the first “new Shakespeare” play in 400 years. His teaching experience includes Fairfield University, Quinnipiac University, Southern Connecticut State University, Brown University, and several private clients in New York. In his spare time (really), Tom can be found playing Trivial Pursuit or bar trivia with anyone willing to challenge him. Tom holds a BA from Minnesota State University Moorhead and an MFA from Brown University/Trinity Rep.
