The bug hit Lyle when he was three years old, while singing "Josephine" for a WLS Barn Dance Show and Competition in Shannon, IL. He was desperately upset when the audience cried "Encore" because he didn't have one. He has not been without one since. A strong desitre to teacha nd direct theatre led to his BA at UNI, his masters from SUI and an ABD from Indiana University. Contrary to a popular opinion Lyle can direct and act. Some of his favorite roles include: Henry Higgins, Peachum, Jimmy Broadbent, Jeeter Lester and Mark Twain. After seven years in Tokyo, touring England, Scotland and Wales with the New England Repertory Company and a three year stint with Signature Productions of Las Vegas, Lyle is happy to return home to roost - in Cedar Rapids and delighted to make his first appearance with the first professional theatre company in Iowa - The Old Creamery Theatre.
